Thanks to @the_ocf Oregon Community Foundation’s C Thanks to @the_ocf Oregon Community Foundation’s Creative Heights Grant, we were able to host master landscape photographer Adrian Klein @adriankleinphotography for a weekend workshop. Participants were treated to a highly informative and entertaining lecture on Friday evening, followed by daybreak-to-sunset field shooting. The resulting images are beautiful! Many thanks also to @rimrockcanyonchurch for allowing the group to make photos on their land. It was an extraordinary day all around. 🎥 footage by @sarahwatersphotographs. ❤️

Carolyn Sweeney @strataink showed us how to extract pieces of earth (rock, flowers, clay, minerals) to make pigments and turn them into inks, dyes and paints. Join us for an unforgettable performance by pianist Jim Isaac Chua @izakchua on October 2, from 6-8pm, sponsored by @oregonfrontierchamber. Since his solo debuts at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) and the Kosciusko Foundation in New York in 2009, Jim-Isaac Chua’s performances have been celebrated in the USA, Canada, Poland, France, Italy, Austria, and in South-East Asia. During the Filipino-American pianist’s most recent fall 2023 tour of the USA, Poland, and the Philippines, Jim-Isaac Chua gave over a dozen concerts in notable halls such as Krzysztofory Palace (Fontana Hall), Józef Świder Concert Hall, Kimbrough Concert Hall, Bing Crosby Theater, CSI Fine Arts Center, Fernan Rodelsa Hall, and Fernan Cebu Press Center, where the Cebu Arts Society wrote that “[Chua] gifted us with one of the most beautiful piano performances we have ever seen.” Among several TV and radio interviews, he was also featured on the cover of GO! Eastern Oregon for his concert benefiting Crossroads Carnegie Art Center to make the arts accessible to all in the area.
